Strategic Collaboration in Driving a Sustainable Future with Grab Ventures Velocity

JAKARTA – Grab Ventures Velocity (GVV) Batch 8 has officially concluded the accelerator program. With the theme of “Driving a Sustainable Future: Helping MSMEs to Adopt Greener Operations,” 5 selected startups focused on climate technology, renewable energy, and the circular economy have had the opportunity to join intensive mentorship, a pilot project to integrate solutions into Grab’s digital ecosystem, and collaboration opportunities with Grab’s strategic partners.

RP1UNTUKBUMI, A Real Action for a Greener Future

As a selected member of Grab Ventures Velocity (GVV) Batch 8, Sirsak had the opportunity to launch the RP1UNTUKBUMI, a promo-to-donation online campaign. This campaign aims to encourage customers to take part in real action in driving a more sustainable waste management system and waste worker protection with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.

The RP1UNTUKBUMI initiative is designed to transform simple user actions into real and measurable contributions to waste management. By donating Rp 1 for each GrabFood order, Grab users can contribute to supporting inclusive and sustainable waste management with Sirsak.

“This program successfully distributed incentives for 25 tons of recycled waste and provided BPJS Ketenagakerjaan protection for waste workers. A total of 20,000 coupon vouchers, RP1UNTUKBUMI, were successfully redeemed within two days, demonstrating the high level of public enthusiasm for participating through simple contributions,” said Violy Purnamasari, COO & Co-Founder of Sirsak.

Not only encouraging Grab users to drive a real impact together, this achievement demonstrates that customers' behavioral change towards sustainability can be driven through daily life activity, as simple as food orders. By leveraging a Grab digital ecosystem, public participation in environmental issues no longer feels complicated or exclusive. Instead, everyone can play a role through small, impactful actions with the spirit of giving back to the community.

Strategic Collaboration for Responsible Waste Management

The opportunity to implement solutions within the Grab ecosystem is one of the remarkable milestones for Sirsak. This pilot project provides Sirsak a relevant experiment to understand operational challenges at scale and provide information to address market needs in the waste management system.

Sirsak is known as a provider of data-driven waste management solutions focused on collaboration with businesses and institutions. Sirsak's participation in Grab Ventures Velocity Batch 8 highly supported the B2C approach to waste management. Through the Grab Ventures Velocity program, Sirsak is expanding its coverage by engaging the public directly through integrated technology.

With the support of mentors, the Grab team, and access to data and distribution channels, Sirsak was able to make the initiative more adaptive, scalable, and sustainable. Furthermore, potential collaboration across Grab's business lines opens up opportunities to integrate solutions from the Sirsak ecosystem.
