Collective Action for Community Empowerment: Transforming Waste Into New Value
As a company committed not only to being Nutrition Ambassadors that deliver nutritious and delicious products, but also to nurturing a healthier planet and society, Frisian Flag Indonesia continues to strengthen its sustainability efforts through meaningful collaboration involving Sirsak, environmental content creator Benedict Wermter (widely known as Bule Sampah), and Liberty Society. Through this cross-sector partnership, it showed that lasting change is possible when companies, innovators, and communities come together in collective action.

The collaboration began with an inspiring discussion in the latest episode of Green Podcast, featuring Gustavo Hildenbrand (President Director of Frisian Flag Indonesia), Benedict Wermter and Angeline Callista (CEO & Co-Founder of Sirsak) about real action and impact from individuals, communities, and organizations in driving sustainability forward, starting with everyday behavioral changes in responsible waste management, circularity, and community empowerment. To take the dialogue into the next step, Flaggers (volunteers of Frisian Flag Indonesia) use the opportunity to participate in a hands-on activity to bring the principles of sustainability to life.
On-Ground Action for Lasting Impact
In collaboration with Sirsak, Flaggers visited TPS3R (Tempat Pengolahan Sampah Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) and the Sirsak’s Waste Bank partners in South Tangerang and immersed themselves in the real-world practices of waste sorting and recycling. This experience not only broadened the understanding of the waste management ecosystem but also deepened the appreciation for the dedication of waste workers and community members who contribute to keeping the system running.
This collaboration extended further through capacity-building initiatives, including training programs for 38 waste banks across South Tangerang and nutrition education sessions for more than 100 community members. These activities enable local communities to improve their environmental literacy and social well-being, because caring for the planet also means caring for its people.

Transforming Waste Through Creative Upcycling
In collaboration with Liberty Society, the activity got more exciting and inspiring with an upcycling workshop to transform used milk carton packaging into functional cardholders. In this session, 60 participants actively took part in the workshop, working together to gain practical knowledge of upcycling. This activity proved that hands-on creativity can turn everyday waste into something truly valuable and community-driven efforts can spark real progress toward a circular economy.

The collaboration between Frisian Flag Indonesia, Sirsak, Liberty Society, and Bule Sampah showcased how organizations with a shared mission can come together and create meaningful impact. Through the Green Podcast, on-the-ground volunteering, waste bank training, nutrition education, and creative upcycling, all partners demonstrated that sustainability thrives when people take action consistently, collectively, and with purpose.
Sirsak proudly thanks all Flaggers, partners, the TPS3R and Waste Bank community for bringing energy and commitment to this initiative. Together, Sirsak will continue inspiring more people across Indonesia to take part toward sustainability, because every step counts!
